Structure

  • 14 Swiss rounds, with records from Day One carrying over to Day Two
  • All rounds of competition use Tournament Match Direct Challenge settings via Direct Challenge in MTG Arena, which means:
    • 30-minute time banks for player priority are enforced in-client
    • Timers are on
    • Matches are the best two-out-of-three
    • Players should double-check to ensure they have not selected "Tournament Match – Limited", "Tournament Match – Historic", or "Challenge Match" in Direct Challenge settings
  • Day One: 7 rounds Standard Constructed, with a cut to Day Two at 12 match points
  • Day Two: 7 rounds Standard Constructed, with a cut to Top 8
  • Each Swiss round will be timed by tournament officials at 60 minutes
    • Players must challenge their opponent by the time the round has officially started based on the time provided by the tournament organizer.
    • Players who have not been able to begin their match and who have received communication from their opponent should contact a tournament admin once the round has begun.
    • At the end of 60 minutes, tournament admins will message players who have not yet reported their match, and players still in a match are expected to respond to the admin's message to confirm they are still playing
  • Top 8: Double elimination Top 8 bracket playoff.
    • Matches are best 2 of 3 Standard Constructed
    • The higher seed for all matches, except the matchup in which the last remaining players in the Upper and Lower bracket compete, may choose play/draw in Game 1 of their matches.
    • The matchup in which the sole players remaining in the Upper and Lower brackets will be best-of-three matches to determine the winner of the tournament rather than traditional best-of-three games.
    • The Upper bracket player may choose play/draw order for the first game of the first match.
    • Play/draw in the first game of later matches in this final matchup, after the first match, will be decided by the person who lost the prior match.
    • Top 8 bracket will be seeded at random, not by standings after Swiss.
    • Top 8 playoff will take place on a separate weekend, August 1.
    • The bracket will be revealed on Friday, July 31.
