DreamHack Anahiem Arena Open is this weekend—February 21-23, 2020—with $100,000 in prizes plus your next chance to qualify for Mythic Invitational Ikoria and step up to the competition on MTG Arena.

How Can I Play?

Head to DreamHack Anaheim, and before you go register for the Arena Open. A few things to keep in mind:

  • A valid ticket to DreamHack Anaheim is required to register
  • The tournament is capped at 350 players
  • The format is traditional best-of-three Standard Constructed, and you will need to have your own deck on MTG Arena
  • The tournament will be Swiss with a Top 16 double elimination playoff

What Are the Tournament Rules?

It's a Standard Constructed format played as Traditional best-of-three on MTG Arena, shared on the DreamHack Anaheim Arena Open site:

  • Swiss with double elimination Top 16 playoff
  • 10 Swiss rounds up with up to 300 persons; 11 Swiss rounds for 300+
  • Tournament is capped at 350 players
  • Tournament begins Friday, Feb. 21
  • Later parts of Top 16 bracket are played on Sunday, Feb. 23 until finished
  • MTG Arena Tournament Mode best-of-three with Standard Constructed decks
  • Players must be ticketed DreamHack Anaheim attendees, and must register in advance
  • Players must submit their final decklist no later than Feb. 19, 2020 at 6 PM PST
  • Typical Magic competition rules, modified for MTG Arena, are in effect—including tiebreakers
  • Higher seed will choose play/draw in Top 16 playoff
  • Players should bring their own device (BYOD) for tournament play, though a number of machines will be available on a "first come, first served" basis for players wishing to use loaner hardware on which to compete

Friday, Feb. 21:

  • 10 AM: Player check-in begins
  • 2 PM: Tournament begins

Saturday, Feb. 22:

  • 11 AM: Tournament begins

Sunday, Feb. 23:

  • 10 AM: Tournament begins
