More than 80 players turned out to compete in the Chinese-Tapei Regional Championship last weekend, with three Pro Tour invites on the line along with a seat at the World Championship. When the dust settled, it was Shih Feng Lin who swept to victory at the Modern tournament, not dropping a single game in the Top 8 with Boros Energy on his way to the title and invitations that come along with the trophy.

It was a dominant weekend start to finish for Lin, who posted only four game losses throughout the entire tournament. His Boros Energy deck won straight games against Mono-Black Eldrazi, Orzhov Blink, and Amulet Titan in the Top 8 to complete the monster run from the Kaohsiung native.

Congrats to Shih Feng Lin, who won the Regional Championship with Boros Energy!

While the Energy player was the only one to nab the World Championship invite, two other players also earned a seat at the Pro Tour. Those honors go to Chikuan Lin, the Amulet Titan who matched Lin's record through the Swiss and would go on to meet in the final, as well as Ai-Chen Chang and his Orzhov Blink deck.

With Energy decks leading the field–and putting four total copies into the Top 8–the Regional Championship had a clear slant on the Modern metagame that has recently seen the rise of Underworld Breach combo. But at the Regional Championship the diverse field wasn't overrun by the new combo threat. Overall, the event was a gathering of the region's best players, and the field thoroughly enjoyed the competition. Congrats again to Regional Champion Shih Feng Lin!
