What started as 243 players entered the crucible of Modern Horizons 3 Draft and Modern Constructed has distilled to the final eight competitors. Congratulations to the Top 8 at Pro Tour Modern Horizons 3!

A world champ, back in the Top 8–and another Modern one at that. Javier Dominguez's last Top Finish came at 2023's Modern Pro Tour The Lord of the Rings, but since then he has been at the top tables and making regular Top 16 appearances at Pro Tours.
He was able to convert in Amsterdam, and now will turn to a Top 8 as the only control player in the group. Energy-based Jeskai decks were the control weapon of choice in Amsterdam, with Galvanic Discharge working to control the early rush while cards like Force of Negation and Invert Polarity dealt with the late threats. It's a difficult balance to find, but one that Dominguez perfected on his way to the Top 8.

With both Grand Prix and Eternal Weekend titles to his name, Daniel Goetschel is a veteran of the competitive circuit who has made a return to the tabletop Pro Tour and now has his second career Top Finish. His four-color build of Nadu leaned into black for Orcish Bowmasters and Thoughtseize, which gives him access to angle line of attack in the mirror matches to come on Sunday.

Kassis has quietly been a mainstay of the very top tables of Pro Tours for years now–highlighted by a title at the Neon Dynasty Championship and later a runner-up finish to Nathan Steuer at the 2022 World Championship–two of his now five Top Finishes.
Kassis mastered the Nadu, Winged Wisdom archetype that dominated the Pro Tour, perfecting his lines of attack with the intricate combo deck and reeling off a perfect 8-0 Modern record to earn his spot in the Top 8 early. It's his first Top Finish since 2022, but with this Top 8 Kassis is back in a big way.

A rising star throughout digital events over the years, South Korean Ma Noah teamed and tested with many of the games greats. Entered through Pro Tour Modern Horizons 3 in good spirits, ready to dive into the new format with plenty of ideas to test. As one of several players to bring a Necrodominance deck to bear, backed up by Grief, Ma leveraged a solid 5-1 Draft record to pair with a 7-0 Modern stretch to claim the first slot and top seed in the Sunday playoff.

Another 6-0 draft record at the Pro Tour, another Top 8 finish at the Pro Tour for the 2015 Magic World Champion and the recently crowned winner of Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor. The Hall of Famer's resume only grows, and he can join some very rarified air if he's able to win his second Pro Tour in six months.
To do it, he'll need to be prepared for practiced Nadu opponents. But that hasn't been a problem yet for Manfield, whose mono-black Necrodominance deck propelled him to his twelfth career Top Finish.

Reigning Player of the Year and bicycling enthusiast Simon Nielsen must have felt perfectly at home in Amsterdam, because he somehow turned in another Top 8 run. What Nielsen has done in an era of parity is unprecedented, and after taking an "off" event at Pro Tour Thunder Junction, Nielsen has resumed his remarkable run.
He's still in search of a trophy. This gives Nielsen another opportunity to achieve, if he can fight through the coming Bant Nadu mirror matches. With four other combo players in the Top 8, it's going to be a daunting challenge–but that's never stopped the Player of the Year before.

Sam Pardee continues a dominant streak of high level success in the 2023-2024 season, making his second Top 8 of the year after the earlier Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor. With another shot at taking home a Pro Tour trophy, Pardee battled through to Top 8 with the powerful new Nadu, Winged Wisdom deck. Given how dominant it's been throughout the tournament, Pardee is poised well to another Sunday win in his sixth career Top Finish.

After its victory at the $100,000 Wilds of Eldraine Limited Open event at last year's MagicCon: Las Vegas, Jason Ye has been on a tear, including a breakthrough first career Top Finish at Pro Tour Thunder Junction two months ago. You can now make it back-to-back Sunday appearances with Pro Tour Modern Horizons 3, playing the new Nadu, Winged Wisdom deck to Modern success. Armed with the best deck in the format and one of the top teams on the circuit (Sanctum of All), Ye will look to claim a Pro Tour trophy with the Sunday showdown.
