The first Pro Tour of the 2024 season is here with over 250 players facing off for $500,000 in prizes at Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor, taking place February 23–25 at MagicCon: Chicago!
How Can I Follow the Event?
Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor will be streamed from MagicCon: Chicago all three days of the event, February 23–25, at twitch.tv/magic. Catch players, fans, and social coverage across the weekend at @PlayMTG with the hashtag #PTKarlov.
On Friday and Saturday—February 23 and 24—broadcast begins at 12 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CET // 2 a.m. JST 2/23–24) with three rounds of Murders at Karlov Manor Draft followed by five rounds of Pioneer Constructed.
On Sunday, February 25 for the Top 8 playoff, broadcast begins at 11 a.m. ET (5 p.m. CEST // 1 a.m. JST 2/26) with all four quarterfinal matches, followed by semifinals matches then the finals of Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor.
While competitors begin their Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m. CT on-site, broadcast begins later in the day at 11 a.m. CT (12 p.m. ET) with a featured drafter to follow into their Round 1 gameplay. As we continue the Pro Tour broadcast we'll catch up to the tournament, showing a full feature match from every round and reducing downtime until we're pacing live gameplay on a short delay.
The Sunday Top 8 playoff broadcast begins at 10 a.m. CT (11 a.m. ET) showing a full quarterfinal match and then as many games from other quarterfinal matches as possible, moving on to a full semifinal match (and as much of the remaining semifinals match) then the complete finals.
When Will Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor Decklists Be Published?
Pioneer Constructed decklists for the tournament will be published on the Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor event page on Friday, February 23 at the beginning of Round 4 gameplay, approximately at 3 p.m. ET (12 p.m. PT).
All Murders at Karlov Manor Draft decklists will not be published.

Following Twitch's Content Sharing Guidelines, you can co-stream the Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor broadcast from twitch.tv/magic using OBS or XSplit. Who Is Playing?
Over 250 competitors—from Regional Championship events, 2023 season performance, top finishers at Pro Tours, MTG Arena, Magic Online Premier Play and more—have invitations to play in Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor. The invitation list is available online (and subject to change).
How Will the Tournament Play Out?
Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor features two formats across three days of play, beginning with Murders at Karlov Manor Draft followed by Pioneer Constructed on each of the first two days, then a Top 8 single-elimination playoff featuring Pioneer Constructed on the final day.
Day One, Friday February 23:
- Rounds 1–3: Murders at Karlov Manor Draft
- Rounds 4–8: Pioneer Constructed
- A record of 4-4 (12 match points) or better advances to Day Two
Day Two, Saturday February 24:
- Rounds 9–11: Murders at Karlov Manor Draft
- Rounds 12–16: Pioneer Constructed
Final standings at the end of Round 16 will determine any remaining Top 8 slots available after all players with 12 match wins have advanced to Top 8—and any ties for a Top 8 slot will be determined by final standings after 16 rounds.
Day Three, Sunday Feburary 25:
- The Top 8 single-elimination playoff will feature Pioneer Constructed.
- All playoff matches, including the finals, will be Best-of-Five games. The first two games of the match will be played without competitors using sideboard cards.
What Do Players Win?
Competitors that finish Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor with thirty (30) or more match points will be invited to Pro Tour Outlaws of Thunder Junction in Seattle, USA.
Competitors that have thirty-nine (39) or more Adjusted Match Points ("AMP") in the post-Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor standing will be invited to Pro Tour Thunder Junction in Seattle, USA.
Players that finish Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor with thirty-six (36) or more match points at the end of the Swiss rounds or the top eight (8) finishing competitors (whichever is greater) will be invited to World Championship 30.
There is a $500,000 prize pool, which is awarded to competitors based on their final standing in the tournament. All prizes displayed in U.S Dollars. Prizes subject to change.

Beginning with Regional Championship Qualifiers at your local game store, you can start on your path to the Pro Tour today. Earn your invitation to your Regional Championship at a qualifier event, then battle through the best from across your region in a Regional Championship to clinch your Pro Tour invitation!
Regional Championship Qualifier participants in qualifiers taking place now through March 24, 2024 can earn invitation to Regional Championships feeding the final Pro Tour of the 2024 season and receive a promotional Explore card.
Top finishers in qualifiers can also earn an Expressive Iteration promo card, with those earning invitations to the Regional Championship snagging it as a traditional foil version.
