November 15, 2020
Adam Styborski

After 14 rounds of Swiss featuring three different formats, the Top 4 of the 2019 Magic Online Championship is set. Here are the Top 4 players returning for the playoff on Sunday, November 15 at 9 a.m. PST!

Be sure to check out all of the Pioneer decklists and Modern decklists from the event to see what they played.

Matti Kuisma

Matti Kuisma

With a Magic Online Championship Series Playoff win and 2018's Grand Prix Barcelona trophy under his belt, Matti Kuisma made a march to the top of standings on Saturday. Ending the day with a 6 match point lead—a record of 12-2 against the field—over the next closest competitor, Kuisma now faces a Top 4 stacked with many of the game's best Magic Online competitors. Between Temur Control in Modern and Oops! All Spells in Pioneer, his path as the first player from Finland to win a Grand Prix can continue by adding his first Championship title to his resume.

Logan Nettles

Logan Nettles

Logan Nettles is one of the strongest US competitors returning to the Magic Online Championship Sunday Top 4 playoff. His first trip was a decade ago, in 2010, where he lost to one of Brazil's greatest in Carlos Romão. With an at-large qualification bringing him to this year's event, taking place after his second career Top Finish at Players Tour Online 3, the third time can be the charm for one of Magic's most methodical online players. His flexible choice of decks, Jund in Modern and Sultai Midrange in Pioneer, speak to his skill

Oliver Tiu

Oliver Tiu

Another at-large qualifying competitor from the US, Oliver Tiu's trip to the Top 4 of the 2016 Magic World Championship was his first Top Finish. With nine Grand Prix Top 8s as well, Tiu's second run here at the 2019 Magic Online Championship is built on his deep skill despite being among the youngest competitors in the field. With Omnath Control in Modern and Boros Burn in Pioneer, it's clear his plans to win don't rely on a favored archetype and instead are exactly what will best suit the event the plays.

Michael Jacob

Michael Jacob

With his first Top Finish coming in 2010 at Pro Tour Amsterdam, and his latest earlier this year at the Players Tour Finals, Michael Jacob has one of the longest careers in the 2019 Magic Online Championship field. An early trailblazer for Magic streaming, Jacob put Magic Online front and center to build a Twitch audience that appreciated his focus and wit in playing every day. Playing Selesnya Heliod Company in Modern and Mono-Green Planeswalkers in Pioneer, Jacob's choices of deck reflect his view of the metagames and how he could best find an edge with decks others may be unprepared for.
