What Are The Formats?
The Season 1 Showcase event is a new, 8-player seasonal championship that leads off with a Zendikar Rising Draft followed by a three-round Modern format event. If one player wins both events, that player is the Season 1 Showcase Champion. Otherwise, the winner of each event will square off in a single playoff match of Modern to determine the Showcase Champion.
