At the conclusion of Magic World Championship 30 at MagicCon: Las Vegas, October 25–27, Wizards of the Coast will announce the Player of the Year for the 2023–2024 season.
The Player of the Year will be determined on total Player of the Year Points earned from the three Pro Tours (Pro Tours Murders at Karlov Manor, Thunder Junction, and Modern Horizons 3) and Magic World Championship 30 held during the 2023–2024 season. The Player of the Year trophy will be presented to the Player of the Year at the first Pro Tour in the 2024–2025 season.
Player of the Year Points differ from Adjusted Match Points ("AMPs"). AMPs award invitations to Pro Tours on a rolling basis, and invitations to the World Championship on a seasonal performance basis.
Player of the Year Points ("POY") from Pro Tours and Magic World Championship 30 are used exclusively for the Player of the Year title and are calculated as follows:
