With the $1,000,000 prize pool Mythic Invitational at PAX East just around the corner, we're excited to announce that viewers tuning in to twitch.tv/magic will be able to access an additional set of tools through a new Twitch extension developed by CardBoard.Live specifically for this event, including support for the new Duo Standard format.
CardBoard.Live is invested in breaking down the barrier to entry so that all fans can enjoy watching Magic at the highest levels of competition. Their technology allows viewers to enjoy content at their own pace, while also giving context for the action on screen. By giving all spectators full access to the knowledge and information that's guiding the competitors, CardBoard.Live ensures everyone watching at home feels the full weight of each exciting moment as it unfolds.
Viewers will be able to access player bios to learn more about each of the 64 competitors as they battle their way through opponents over four days. Interested in exploring the nuances of Esper control? Want to tweak your aggro deck? You'll be able to access each competitor's decklists directly through the extension during competition and view each card individually at your own leisure.
Earlier this year, the Cardboard.Live team deployed their Twitch extension for MagicFest Los Angeles, showcasing these features for tabletop Magic. After an overwhelmingly positive community reception, we're excited to be able to offer this functionality to our viewers at home as MTG Arena leaps into the spotlight at the Mythic Invitational.
