On Saturday, March 7, 75 players gathered in Taipei City for the MIT Championship, Taiwan's Regional Championship. Three invitations to Pro Tour Secrets of Strixhaven and one seat at Magic World Championship 32 were on the line. After seven rounds of Swiss and a Top 8 playoff, Hall of Fame player and five-time Pro Tour Top 8 competitor Lee Shi Tian from Hong Kong took home the title and the trophy with Dimir Excruciator. Congratulations to Regional Champion Lee Shi Tian!

Congratulations to Regional Champion Lee Shi Tian!
Lee played against Sun Chi You on Mono-White Aggro in the finals. Sun took only one other loss in the tournament in the third round of the Swiss before ultimately falling to Lee in in the finals. Sun came close to qualifying for the Pro Tour at the MIT Championship in May 2025. Though he lost in the finals of this event, he did still earn a spot at Pro Tour Secrets of Strixhaven!

Congratulations to the Top 8
Congratulations to the Top 8 players of the MIT Championship!
The Top 8 consisted of seven different archetypes, with Mono-White Aggro being the only deck represented twice.
Only three players could earn invitations to the Pro Tour. After the Top 8, Lee Shi Tian and Sun Chi You were joined by 3rd-place finisher Su Yu Wen as the only finalists to earn a Pro Tour invitation. You can see all three Pro Tour-qualifying decklists here.
Standout Decklists from the Regional Championships
Standard continues to evolve in the weeks and months following Pro Tour Lorwyn Eclipsed. Mono-White Aggro is a quickly rising newcomer to the field, and Temur Aggro also had a solid showing in the MIT Championship. Dimir Excruciator and Mono-Green Landfall continue to hold their place in the format, while Badgermole Cub-centric decks continue to see a precipitous decline.
