The current Regional Championship Qualifier (RCQ) round is testing players and their Modern (or Limited) skills as it starts them on their path to the Pro Tour at MagicCon: Las Vegas in 2025. However, starting in mid-November, the qualifier round for the Pro Tour at MagicCon: Atlanta will be kick off and test players' ability to navigate the post-Foundations Standard.
Playing in an RCQ is a fun way of making new friends and catching up with old ones on your path to the Regional Championships and—if you rise above many of your region's best—the Magic Pro Tour. Today, we're revealing details about that round, including format as well as some of the sweet new Secret Lair promo cards you can get your hands on!
Upcoming Regional Championship Qualifiers
The third round of 2024–25's RCQs will begin on November 16, 2024, and will run until March 22, 2025. All WPN stores, as well as destination event organizers, will be running RCQs that feed into the third round of Regional Championships for 2024–25 during this window. Those will take place around spring of 2025.
RCQs run during this round can be scheduled by participating WPN stores as Standard Constructed or Limited. Larger events that are designated as "destination" qualifiers—events run in larger venues such as hotel ballrooms or convention centers—may be run as other Constructed formats. Please check with your local organizer for all specific info on qualifiers closest to you.
Additionally, the product line-up for Limited may differ depending on when the event is taking place, as this round will span multiple booster releases, so check with your organizer for the specific details if it is run as Limited.
