Jean-Emmanuel "JiRock" Depraz has been playing Magic for years, bursting onto the scene with a 1st-place finish at Grand Prix Warsaw in 2017. From there, Depraz set his sights on higher achievements, leading to a Top 8 appearance at Pro Tour Rivals of Ixalan. His dedication to the game took him even further, and he finished in second at World Championship XXVII in 2021.

But Depraz had a champion's spirit, and 2nd place wasn't enough.

On September 24, 2023, at World Championship XXIX, Jean-Emmanuel Depraz claimed victory after three days of Wilds of Eldraine Draft and Standard Constructed. He went home with the trophy, the title of World Champion, and one of the most formidable prizes to earn in Magic: the chance to have his likeness brought into the game he loves on a card. Today, we revealed that card.

Depraz joins the hall of World Champions featuring their likeness on a Magic card. Meet Formidable Speaker, a new card from Lorwyn Eclipsed, which releases on January 23, 2026.
