Top 8 Players and Decks of Pro Tour Edge of Eternities

September 28, 2025
Corbin Hosler

Congratulations to the Top 8 of Pro Tour Edge of Eternities!

After two intense days of Magic competition, Pro Tour Edge of Eternities's field of 300 players has been whittled down to the Top 8. These competitors will face off on Sunday in a Top 8 playoff to determine which pair of players will be headed to the finals.

Mikko Airaksinen

Mikko Airaksinen

This Arena Championship 7 finalist is no stranger to competitive play. Among the most experienced members of Team Vents, Mikko Airaksinen had his competitive start at the World Championship in 2009 after winning Finland's Nationals. With persistence, and digital play, he turned his Arena Championship finish into an opportunity to at Pro Tour Edge of Eternities where his goal was simple: make Day Two. Now, with a Top 8 clinched he's in for far more with the Sunday showdown and another chance at the World Championship later this year.

Mason Buonadonna

Mason Buonadonna

The last time Mason Buonadonna was at the Pro Tour, he slid into a 9-7 finish at Pro Tour Aetherdrift. But this time around, things aren't looking fast and furious for him. Instead, his deck is Amulet Titan, one of the most complex decks in Modern. But mile-high stacks of triggers and enough lands to blot out a playmat isn't enough to deter Buonadonna. We'll just have to see if his galaxy-brained gameplay can deliver him the trophy.

Michael DeBenedetto-Plummer

Michael DeBenedetto-Plummer

Michael DeBendetto-Plummer is a member of Team Serious Player Only, and his performance at this event certainly lives up to that name. He started the season with a goal of playing all three Pro Tours and the World Championship. Coming into Pro Tour Edge of Eternities he had just one left—and locking in a Top 8 appearance unlocked his vision for the season. Let's see if he can turn his third Pro Tour of the year into his first Pro Tour victory.

Jonny Guttman

Jonny Guttman

Guttman's first big break came when he made the Top 8 of 2022's Neon Dynasty Set Championship, and he's been on a hot streak ever since. He knows how intense Modern Pro Tours can be. After making the Top 32 at last year's Pro Tour Modern Horizons 3, Guttman has slung spells at every Pro Tour this year. Piloting Esper Goryo's with ghoulish skill, this Team Handshake member will attempt to turn his Top 8 appearance into a title.

Makoto Horiuchi

Makoto Horiuchi

This is Makoto Horiuchi's first Pro Tour, but you wouldn't know it based on his performance. After qualifying through a Regional Championship, Horiuchi earned his spot in the Top 8 with an exciting twist on Esper Blink. Cutting through the competition in the blink of an eye, Horiuchi will be a force to be reckoned with at the Top 8 and beyond.

Noé Offman

Noé Offman

Team Worldly Counsel's Noé Offman has his sights set on the World Championship. After making the Top 8 of two Regional Championships and making Day Two of Pro Tour Phyrexia, Offman has emerged back onto the Pro Tour in explosive fashion. He's spent the past weekend turning Big Hoots into Atraxa, Grand Unifier. When Offman and Phyrexia collide, it's sure to be a terrifying presence.

Francisco Sánchez

Francisco Sánchez

Francisco Sánchez has been finishing better each Pro Tour of the season. Entering into Pro Tour Edge of Eternities as part of Team Pluto—packed with many of Spain's finest players and joined by the formidable Matias Leveratto—with the goal to play in the World Championship as well, he earned his way there piloting a powerful Azorius Control deck. In a tournament filled with combo, the choice to stop the action and take over the game led to his phenomenal performance. With two MOCS Top 8s under his belt and a strong performance at Players Tour Brussels in 2020, Sánchez has the experience and deck to take the trophy home on Sunday.

Justin Schabel

Justin Schabel

Meet Justin Schabel, the first player to clinch Top 8 at Pro Tour Edge of Eternities. His first Pro Tour was just a few months ago in Las Vegas, but he's already built up a resume that includes a Top 8 at Magic Spotlight: Secret Lair. Now, he's making a run for the trophy with his Izzet Prowess deck. Only time will tell if he has the Magic prowess to turn this weekend into a victory.
