Our current round of Regional Championship Qualifiers (RCQs) has shown just how innovative Magic players can be. We've seen spicy Modern decks and bold Limited strategies deliver players invitations to Regional Championships, where they'll compete for a spot at the Pro Tour.
As we finish off this round of RCQs, let's take a look at the upcoming events for the 2026–27 Magic season and their brand-new promo cards!
Upcoming Regional Championship Qualifiers
(August 15–November 29, 2026)
Our next round of RCQs will begin on August 15, 2026, and run until November 29, 2026. All WPN stores and destination event organizers will be running RCQs that feed into the upcoming round of Regional Championships for 2026–27 during this window.
For this round, RCQs at WPN game stores can be held as Standard Constructed or Limited events. Larger events that are designated as "destination" qualifiers—events run in larger venues such as hotel ballrooms or convention centers—may be run as other Constructed formats. Please check with your local organizer for all specific info on qualifiers closest to you.
Additionally, the product line-up for Limited may differ depending on when the event is taking place, as this round will span multiple booster releases. Check with your organizer for the specific details if you're interested in a Limited RCQ.
Time for the exciting part: new promo cards! Two beloved Magic artists have brought their personal style to this round's promos.
You don't need to return anything to your hand to earn this promo! All Regional Championship Qualifier participants during this round will receive a non-foil Sunpearl Kirin promo card with art by kelogsloops.*
Arriving from the far-out reaches of the Edge, this next promo card features some especially stellar artwork. Top Finishers will also receive a non-foil Pinnacle Starcage promo card with art by Princess Hidir. Players who qualify for a Regional Championship will also receive a traditional foil Pinnacle Starcage promo card.*
Regional Championships for the First Pro Tour of 2027
(Starting September 11)
Think you've got what it takes to take on the Pro Tour? Regional Championships are a great way to earn your seat alongside Magic's best. Qualified competitors can look forward to the next round of Regional Championships, which kicks off on September 11, 2026. These Regional Championships will feature Modern Constructed, and Top Finishers will earn invitations to the first Pro Tour of 2027. We'll share more details about that Pro Tour in the future.
Fitting a round of Modern Regional Championships, the Eldrazi will worm their way into competitors' collections on this promo card. All participants at this round of Regional Championships will receive a non-foil textless Kozilek's Command promo card with art by Mike Burns, with Top Finishers receiving traditional foil copies.*
